Selling cards well means pricing them right, describing them honestly, and getting them to the buyer undamaged. This checklist covers each step.

1. Price from sold comps

Start with the market price on the card's PullMeter page, then check recent sold listings, or comps, for the same variant and condition. Asking prices don't count.

2. Know your fees before you list

Marketplaces charge selling fees and payment processing, and some add per-order fees. Plug your platform's current rates into our seller fee calculator to see what you'll actually keep.

3. Photograph clearly

  • Shoot the front and back on a plain background in soft, even light.
  • Photograph any flaws close up. Honest photos prevent returns.
  • For high-value cards, show the corners and edges.

4. Grade condition honestly

Use standard terms: Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played and so on. When in doubt, grade down.

5. Ship safely

  • Put the card in a penny sleeve, then a toploader, and seal the top with painter's tape or a team bag.
  • For valuable cards, use a bubble mailer with tracking and consider insurance.
  • Don't use tape directly on the card or sleeve.

6. Keep records

Track what you paid and sold for. It helps with pricing, and with taxes if you sell regularly. Our box logger exports to CSV.
