TCGplayer Market Price vs listed price: which is right?

Updated October 23, 2026 · By the PullMeter team

According to TCGplayer, Market Price comes from recent completed sales, while the Listed Median is the median of current asking prices. Listed prices can sit far above what cards actually sell for, especially for older or scarce items. Sales show what buyers really paid.

In our data, for 719 printings with a market price of $5 or more, the mid listing was a median 1.11× the market price.

For buying and selling, start from the market price and check recent sold listings for the same condition. See how to price cards to sell.
